Data Subject Rights
Last updated: May 27, 2026
This page explains practical request channels for personal information rights. It does not override any lawful retention, audit, safety, legal, or regulatory obligation.
1. Who This Applies To
This page applies to passengers, reporters, drivers, operator staff, administrators, and regulators whose personal information may be processed by SafeRide.
2. Rights You May Exercise
- Request access to personal information linked to you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Request deletion where continued retention is not legally or operationally required.
- Object to or restrict certain processing where legally available.
- Withdraw consent for optional contactable follow-up where processing depends on consent.
- Ask how your information is used, shared, secured, and retained.
3. Identity Verification
SafeRide may require reasonable identity verification before acting on a request. This prevents unauthorized access to reporter, driver, staff, or operator records.
4. Limits
Some requests may be refused, delayed, or narrowed where records must be kept for legal claims, audit integrity, safety investigations, fraud prevention, regulatory reporting, dispute handling, or protection of another person's rights.
5. Driver and Operator Records
Drivers and operators may request correction of inaccurate profile, assignment, or vehicle information. SafeRide may preserve historical audit records showing what was changed, when, and by whom.
6. Reporter Records
Passengers who submitted contactable reports may request correction or removal of contact details where legally appropriate. Report substance may be retained in anonymized, restricted, or audit-preserved form where needed for safety accountability.
7. Escalation
If a request is not resolved, the person may use any applicable complaint route under Zimbabwean law, including the competent data protection authority or court process where available.
